Women In Consulting
In 2014, UCC and Capital W joined forces to present an unprecedented insight into females succeeding in management consulting – an incredibly rewarding and in turn, competitive field of employment. The event featured presentations from both a student’s perspective from Kalyn Jiang (President of UCC in S2 2014 and now Associate at BCG) and a current consultant’s perspective from Kristina Koenig (Associate Consultant at L.E.K. Consulting). Following both presentations, attendees had the opportunity to network, and engage in an interactive workshop on strategy with a practical mini-case on global clothing manufacturer, H&M.
Thought Leadership Workshops
UCC invites consulting firms such as L.E.K. Consulting and Strategy& to present workshops on their thought leadership or on fundamental topics such as case interviews and market sizing.
In semester 2 of 2014, L.E.K. Consulting held a workshop on their approach to commercial due diligence. L.E.K.’s strategic approach to due diligence informs client’s investment decisions by providing independent, fact-based analysis regarding a target’s most pressing commercial and operational issues. On the night, L.E.K. covered the deal process, the tools and output involved, and the differences between commercial and vendor due diligence. The latter half of the workshop involved market sizing and analysing the key drivers of specific industries.
