What is the Oliver Wyman Trans-Tasman Case Competition?

At UCC, we are proud to co-host the Oliver Wyman Trans-Tasman Case Competition (OWTCC) - the region’s premier student consulting competition. Designed to mirror the work of a management consultant, the OWTCC challenges students to collaborate in teams and tackle a real-world business case. Past cases have explored themes such as market entry, growth strategy, digital transformation, and sustainability.

Finalist teams have the unique opportunity to present their recommendations to a panel of Oliver Wyman consultants and industry leaders, receiving direct feedback in a dynamic, client-style setting. 2025 prize winners will also benefit from direct interviews for positions at Oliver Wyman, networking sessions and resume reviews.

The OWTCC is an invaluable chance for students across Australia and New Zealand to sharpen problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills while gaining first-hand exposure to the consulting industry. You can access the 2025 Case Brief here.

2025 Case Company:

We created Finspo to be an end-to-end solution for those who are looking to get onto the property ladder, but also save money throughout the life of their loan
— Angus Gilfillan, Finspo CEO

Finspo is a Melbourne-based fintech and digital mortgage broker founded in 2019 by ex-bankers to make home loans simpler, fairer, and more transparent. They combine digital tools and mortgage experts so Australians can not only get good home loans, but also manage and pay them off smarter, with less fuss and more savings.

The case challenges students to think creatively about how technology and customer-centric solutions can reshape financial services in Australia and New Zealand.
